Videos are on the Way!
Please excuse our lack of videos. We are currently in the process of delivery on our promises, and in the meantime we offer you these visual illustrations.
Step 1
-
Surface Prep
Please use alcohol to clean the surface that you wish to stick the WindowSmasher onto. Once surface is prepped, peel off the adhesive protector. For best results, place the 3M adhesive side of holder onto the prepped surface as soon as possible.
-
Where to Place
Best placement practice is to stick the WindowSmasher onto a spot where it will not fall off in the event of a wreck. Sticking it into the inside of the center console is the safest place to put it. Try to pick a location that will be easy to reach if a wreck happens.
Step 2
-
Prep the Tool
Remove the blade cover using the pull tab. Once the cover is removed, you DO NOT have to worry about cutting yourself; the WindowSmasher is made to be used in emergencies, and is designed for your safety.
-
How to Cut
The correct way to cut a seatbelt with the WindowSmasher is at a 45° angle. Cutting with downward force and away from your face is the easiest way to use it safely.
Step 3
-
Weak Points in Glass
Although is seems counter intuitive, the corners, being the most structurally integral place on a window, are actually the perfect place to use a quick escape tool. The center of the glass flexes more, and may take multiple attempts to break. The corners do not flex as much, and cannot disperse the impact from the WindowSmasher's spring loaded pin; meaning that the glass is much more likely to break!
-
Think Safety First
No need to panic, you already have the perfect tool for your predicament! When using the WindowSmasher, especially with 10,000 lbs of water pressure on the other side of the glass, you need to make sure the incoming glass shards will not cut you. Protect your eyes and face by turning your head in the opposite direction of the window you are breaking. Simple as that.
